The City Streets show is bursting with talent, like the Bay Area itself. Over 35 local artists share their diverse views of the Bay Area, from downtown skyscrapers to gritty urban piers, lovely landmarks to desolate railroad tracks. Painters in the show include Brandon Smith, Kanna Aoki, Lindsey Kustusch, Michael Chamberlain, Chris Grassano, Karen White, Nobuhito Tanaka, Catherine Mackey, Jonathan Ahn, Scott Grabowski, Leslie Morgan, Carole Rafferty, Leo Bugel, Margaret Wade, Carol Tarzier, Alan Mazzetti, Tom Gibbons, Laurie Chase, Brent Bushnell, Patricia Araujo, Sofia Carmi, Xiau-Fong Wee, and Sonja Navin. The show boasts the latest installment in Katie Gilmartin's "pulp" series, plus etchings from Alice Gibbons, Toru Sugita and Jack Jacobson. Sculptures by Richard Benbrook and Koji Nagao, photos from Barbara Wyeth and Pep Ventosa, prints from Miho Simunovic, an encaustic painting by Karen Frey, and drawings from Elizabeth Ashcroft round out the show. And we're happy to welcome back some gallery favorites: FastPass wallets by Heather Logsdon, cityscapes on canvas from Proehl Studios, and a giant Polk Street Map Print from Niana Liu. It's a lively and lovely show that celebrates the eclectic beauty of the Bay Area.
