Painting Expedition to Longleat, U.K.
Two expeditions, the first one was in October 2000 and the second trip was in March 2003. Both painting expeditions with friend and painter, Wilma Parker.
"Longleat House is widely regarded as one of the best examples of high Elizabethan architecture in Britain and one of the most beautiful stately homes open to the public".
Longleat house was completed by 1580 and now home to the 7th Marquess of Bath, Alexander Thynn. Longleat House is set within 900 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland with a further 8000 acres of woodland, lakes and farmland.
Wilma and I had the privilege in meeting the 7th Marquess of Bath, aka Lord bath, Alexander Thynn. Alexander is a writer and painter. He has some amazing murals at his home. He welcomes artists to visit Longleat as it offers magnificent landscape and architecture. I was inspired by Longleat's majestic rooftop, and I devoted a series of paintings titled, Longleat Series.
