San Francisco Bay Area painter Patricia Araujo, steps beyond the scope of her 2008 book "SOMA SEEN" with a new solo show titled, The City from SOMA Grand. This exhibition will showcase her new paintings of the city seen from above SOMA Grand, which present a different perspective, the buildings facades not seen from street level but actually from a highrise, rooftop city views. This exhibition also celebrates Araujo's new book publication, entitled "SOMA RISING", featuring her latest paintings. Alongside Araujo's rooftop works from SOMA Grand, also included in this monograph are paintings of her continued interest in the facades of both iconic city landmarks and abandoned downtown buildings as an elegy to San Francisco’s architectural past.
