Dnepr is located on the Dnieper River in East-Central Ukraine. Dnipropetrovsk has been the major center of the steel industry from the beginning of the 20th century until the present. It has also dominated in the machine-building and aero-spacebuilding industry since the 1950s. Through researching about the city of Dpner and the circus arena, I felt inspired to create my own interpretation of the building, a spaceship influence, and making it part of new frontier. To learn more about Tomorrowland series read here Dnepr II was first exhibited @ Roll Up Gallery's group exhibition titled, Idealization of Shapes July 29th - August 14th, 2011. Followed by "Geometric Goddesses" exhibition at Roll Up Gallery, San Francisco, March 9th-25th, 2012. Dnepr II was exhibited during Araujo's solo show, Tomorrowland Today, at the Trade in Sacramento, from April 18th to July 31st, 2015. This painting was also exhibited during "Revisiting Tomorrowland" in September, 2018 at Firehouse Coffee & Teas in Sausalito, CA.
