DESCRIPTION: Arcades forms part of a cycle of repetitive and recurring images while drawing. Examining my interest in the arch, its early invention related to victory and triumphal statements such as that honoring Titus, 81 AD. I have been fascinated by the arch structure, the continuous arcade, the variety of the scale, volume and depth within any given arch, that of support. Arches stimulate an interest in history and capture the interest of the eye in its efforts to look through it. Arcades is a frontal view, colorful, and creates implied movement through rhythm of form, by the infinite archway composition.
Arcades was exhibited in 2004 at SOMA Gallery, Patricia's Solo Show titled New Paintings.
