Other Works in this Series: Cityscape with Perfume Bottle Size: 36" x 36"Medium: Oil on canvas Date: 2003 Sold Shapiro Collection, Manhattan Beach, CA. A metallic silver sky surrounds an imaginary city. Outlined in red is a cityscape, confronted by a perfume bottle and an entrance gate. The red outline can describe a coma, or a vivid lifeline. The image may be perceived as a conversation between the perfume bottle and the copper gate. Each object and the city’s silhouette stands strong and individualistic. Cityscape with Perfume Bottle portrays a modern industrial environment. The perfume bottle is derived from a personal connection to the bottle’s design, a collectible from youth, encompassing my desire to preserve such elegant and striking bottle. The gate entrance is symbolic, an entry for the viewer, yet it is completely solid copper, alluding to magic and the unknown. The cityscape is illuminated, offering a glimpse of the fantastic! Cityscape with Perfume Bottle was acquired by my Private Collector, Jerry Shapiro in 2004, and this piece was later exhibited at his home for a special event titled "First Art Salon", in March 2005. Art Talk by two artists: myself and Wilma Parker. We presented our works and lectured to a group of docents from SFMOMA and San Francisco Fine Art Museums, (FAMSF).
