Other Works in this Series: The Search Size: 60" x 48"Medium: Oil on canvas Date: 2003 Sold Valencia Collection, Redwood Shores, CA Reflecting on ancient and sacred architecture, I have challenged myself to re-create a city which embodies different architectural settings. It is an ode to the invention of the arch, arcade, an entrance, the dome and cupulas, and great tall towers and minurets. The amazing creation of the pyramids, and the glorification of utilizing precious materials, such as gold and copper, metals…incorporated with luminous colors inspire me. The Search speaks to me of my inner search and admiration of architecture, and questions the "why" of such constructions. It questions correlation in an environment. These ancient structures have survived many centuries, and remain vital part of great civilizations. The Search may not correspond to a specific place, but it offers an ideal, a bright, magical world, in which human beings are a part, yet not in sight, as if searching for the beauty and richness that is already accessible to the viewer. It is an experience to sift through each fragment of these constructions, and dig deeper for something meaningful, and positive. [ Write a Review for this Work ] [ Return to Gallery ] |
