Metamorphosis II, is a second attempt in the working series devoted to the Old Emporium building site, the glorious structure under a nuclear, emerald-green sky. It is an uplifting moment for the dome, as it seems to rise off the ground, similar to a spaceship. Various windows in color offer imaginary arrival into the infinite.

This painting was first exhibited at the San Francisco Art Institute's Spring Group Show in 2005. In 2006, Metamorphosis II was exhibited at DA Arts, Patricia's Solo Show titled
RECONSTRUCTING SOMA. A few days after this exhibition ended Metamorphosis II was exhibited for another Solo Show titled The Old Emporium. This exhibit was held at the Old Emporium which converted into Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre in September 2006. This exhibition lasted a two year duration and the opening coincided with the shopping centre's grand opening to the public.  In 2008, Metamorphosis II was exhibited at HEART OF THE CITY: Two Person Art Exhibit and Book Release - Patricia Araujo and Mark Ellinger, at the North of Market/Tenderloin Community Benefit District Corporation, San Francisco, CA. (6 months exhibition).

Metamorphosis II is featured in Patricia's book entitled, SOMA SEEN, published in 2008. This painting has also been published in International Contemporary Masters 2010 Vol. III, World Wide Art Books, January 2010.
