This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by my dear friend, San Francisco photographer and Mid-Market architectural connoisseur, Mark Ellinger, which presents the PG&E Thermal Plants and surrounding scene of 6th & Jessie Streets, in San Francisco.
View from 6th & Jessie Streets was first exhibited during Araujo's Solo Show, "The City from SOMA Grand" in October, 2012, in San Francisco. This painting is featured in the cover of Araujo's new book publication, SOMA RISING, which was celebrated at the opening of "The City from SOMA Grand". It was later exhibited in May, 2013 at the Bayview Opera House, San Francisco. View from 6th & Jessie Streets was exhibited during Araujo's solo show, ON THE EDGE OF DELICATE LINES, July-September 7th, 2013 at Alphaville Gallery, in San Francisco. This painting was on view at the Old Mint, for "Mid-Market Landmarks" solo exhibition in San Francisco, January-March 2015. I'm very pleased to have this painting exhibited for solo show "Urban Abstracts" at the Tenderloin Museum in San Francisco, December 6th, 2018 to February 3rd, 2019.
