Other Works in this Series: Dreaming Pacifica Size: 14" x 11"Medium: Oil on canvas Date: 2018 Sold Valencia Collection, Bogota, Colombia Dreaming Pacifica is inspired by the face of the statue of Pacifica, of the Golden Gate International Exposition of 1939. Pacifica was an 80 footer built by Ralph Stackpole, that stood at Treasure Island and was demolished after the fair ended. She was monumental; a spectacular statue, almost life-like, as if welcoming guests at the fair! She was and continues to be an iconic figure and it is hoped one day to have her re-built and back at the Island. This painting forms part of the ongoing series of Pacifica's face, represnted as an illusion, hence has its unfinished look. "Dreaming Pacifica" was exhibited at the San Francisco History Center in celebration of the 80th anniversart of the Golden Gate International Exposition, "Illusion & The Magic City", January 26th-March 28th, 2019.
